After 20 years of successful treatments and a growing CML population researchers are now beginning to understand the source of CML the CML stem cell and how to eliminate it. All it takes is money and science, CML researchers have the will and the know how. CML research funding from NIH and private sources has nearly stopped in the past 5 years due to the success of daily cancer drugs and better monitoring 95% of CML patients live an "appearingly" normal life. But families are struggling with this "invisible" blood cancer, patients suffer with daily treatment side-effects and families deal the life altering costs of treatment - for the rest of their lives, Yet they patiently wait to hear the words "you are CURED".
